My Pacific Blue Parrotlets

My Blue Flock’s Status

Links:

Hi, this page is done up to keep up on the status of my parrotlets, and also for keen hobbyists to hopefully be enthralled by one of these little pocket gems =)

History:

I got my first blue male parrotlet, Titan back in Feb 2006, during a time when parrotlets weren’t very common at all. I had to search around and eventually got to know of a breeder through MoPa and finally got my hands on Titan.

During that time, parrotlets were rare and so the price was high too =P But it was worth it, he was such a cuddly bundle of joy, and such a crowd pleaser that everyone at the outings just spent long periods of time just preening him. The photo on the left was taken at a MoPa outing looonnnnggg ago.

Months later I decided to get a female green to accompany him, but things didnt go too well, as Titan was such a tyrant. Then I got a blue female to accompany him, but she also had to go through a brief rough patch. Thankfully, they’re currently the most loving pair ever.

Breeding:

So far I have only one breeding blue pair, and even though they nest/lay eggs within 2-3days of me putting in the nest box, I only let them nest 2mths after each batch, to give them time to rest. Therefore my availability of baby chicks is pretty sporadic =) I have just introduced the green female to one of Titan’s offspring, William, and they’ve nested for their first time but the eggs turned out infertile.
